The Chicken Sisters by K.J. Dell'Antonia is set in Merinac, Kansas, where Chicken Mimi's and Chicken Frannie's have spent a century vying to serve the best fried chicken in the state and their legendary feud has lasted just as long. Tired of it all, Amanda sends an SOS to Food Wars, the TV competition that promises a $100,000 prize, launching both families out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Meet-N-Eat (FREE Meal)

Meals will be available in the South Parking Lot between 5:30 and 6:15 pm.

While curbside pickup continues, indoor Dining is now an option!  Follow the signs to park on the south end and come inside for food and fellowship.

All are welcome to come to Ascension for a FREE meal.  We start serving at 5:30 PM.  We provide a hot meal and dessert to anyone who would like to join us.  This ministry to our community is a simple way for us to say, "We care about each and every person in our community."  Ascension believes in Sharing Christ's Love in tangible ways that make a difference in people's lives.  So please join us on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month for some great food and conversation.  If you would like to volunteer to help with this meal ministry no need to sign up anymore, just show up at 4 or 5pm.  

Join us at C"hat"ters

In 2024 we made 126 pairs of mittens, 524 hats, 48 baby hats, 3 headbands, 2 scarves and 152 blankets! 

 These were donated to the C.H.A.P. store Christmas Joy program and were distributed to those in need this Christmas season.

Our goal is to do as many as possible and also to have lots of conversation, laughter and goodies along the way.  We'd love to have you join us when you can, even if you aren't crafty. More chatter is always welcome and you can learn to knit, crochet or cut out patterns if you'd like.
